
A 2009 Gerda Lissner Foundation Encouragement Award recipient, and a 2010 Liederkranz finalist in the art song divison, Gregory’s concert experience includes the Dvorak Mass in D Major and the Janácek Otcenás with Chorus Pro Musica; Carmina Burana, Purcell’s O Sing unto the Lord and Handel’s Chandos Anthem no. 9 with Falmouth Chorale and Orchestra; Haydn’s Creation, Schubert’s Mass in Eb, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and Handel’s Messiah with Nashoba Valley Chorale; Mozart’s Mass in C minor and Litanae Lauretaniae with Quincy Choral Society; the Donizetti Requiem with the Fine Arts Chorale; Bach’s Magnificat with Choral Arts Society; the Bach B Minor Mass with the Connecticut Virtuosi; the Mozart Mass in C minor with Harvard University Choir; the Evangelist in Bach’s St. John Passion with Freisinger Chamber Orchestra; 2nd Priest and 1st Augur in John Eccles’ Semele under the baton of Martin Pearlman; the title role in L’Egisto as a guest artist at New England Conservatory; and opera and pops concerts with both the Chautauqua and Utah Symphony. Other performances include Mozart’s Vespers and Requiem, the Saint Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, and the Beethoven Mass in C.
Currently a doctoral candidate in voice performance at Boston University, Gregory received his Bachelor of Arts in music from Emory University, followed by two Master of Music degrees from New England Conservatory in voice performance and opera studies as a student of Edward Zambara. At NEC, he performed the roles of Tamino in the Magic Flute, the title role in Candide, Martin in The Tender Land, Larry/Matt in The Face on the Barroom Floor, Mayor Upfold in Albert Herring, and Franco Laspiga in the premiere of Dan Shore’s Works of Mercy. With the Contemporary Ensemble, Gregory performed Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings, Stravinsky’s In Memoriam: Dylan Thomas, and worked with John Harbison in a concert of selected arias from The Great Gatsby.
